Thailand -

Thailand was a trip done in August but somehow I am writing about it in December. Yes some of the memories are hazy now but the important ones completely haze proof :) So yet again this was a girls trip with three of my closest friends. I am so damn lucky to always find women who are fiercely independent, broad minded and absolute fun to be with!! We covered Phuket and Phi Phi. Phi Phi islands are very close to Phuket. The map below shows how big Thailand actually is and how we chose the quieter option. We planned Thailand to be a semi leisure, semi adventure sort of a trip. We had no itinerary planned, we had our to and fro tickets of course, a kick ass Airbnb booked and that's about it. I cant rant about the house enough. It was a three bedroom, pool facing (Yes we had a private pool), open kitchen, full length glass doors, amazing cutlery and amazing host Villa. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it. This is the entrance of the villa. By the way you can rent scooty also qu

Buran Ghati Trek

Image
I have done three Himalayan Treks so far - Chopta Chandrashila, Valley of Flowers and Buran Ghati. Buran Ghati wins the best trek award so far hands down!! Not because of the height or difficulty or anything else. It is at least four treks combined in one. We pass through meadows, forests, snow clad mountains, lakes what not. Overall it is one hell of an adventure, lets begin! Buran Ghati is a very recent trek started by Indiahikes. I was part of the second batch of this trek via Trek the Himalayas ( I have already expressed my love for TTH earlier, take it here again <3 <3). As it was the second batch we just had 14 people and together we were sort of exploring the trail. Buran Ghati is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh at a height of 15000 ft. The closest hill station to Buran Ghati is Shimla. From there we stop at multiple villages and hike our way to the top. Our day starts with a jeep picking us up at Shimla from where we drive around 8 hrs to reach a

Munnar

Its tough to write after a break of 6 long months. Did I travel during this time? Yes I did. Did I blog it out? No I didnt :( Here's to a fresh blog and the promise to be more disciplined! Munnar is a hill station in the state of Kerela. Situated at a height of 1600 metres, the striking feature of Munnar is not its height  but the greenery. The color of green with a yellow sunshine tinge to it reminds you of the fresh dew dropped mornings! The Taaza tea TV ads! The color that your mind needs for rejuvenating ! This is how Munnar feels from anywhere. The transport is pretty easy from Bangalore. A direct bus from any of the good travel agencies solves the issue. But in case you are travelling from somewhere else, a self drive car may be a better fit. Next bit is to solve for the stay. We stayed at this beautiful beautiful place called  Tea County Resort . Maintained by the Kerela Tourism Department itself, Tea County is located in the city with a quite of its own. Th

Valley of Flowers

Image
The Valley Valley of Flowers had been in my bucket list for more than 6 years now. I used to be extremely fascinated by the stories of it being a land of fairies covered with exotic flowers and what not! My rendezvous with Valley of Flowers is a self reflection of how much I have changed / evolved over the last six years. Earlier what seemed extremely tough was actually quite easy for having done a few treks already. Earlier it was all about the beauty of the valley but now every trek is a journey to introspect and empty some of the clutter which I keep collecting in my head :) So let the journey begin!! How to reach? For the Valley of Flowers trek, you can simply book a trek from any of the organisations - I booked with Trek The Himalayas. We need to reach Haridwar max by morning of the day trek starts. I took a flight from Chennai to Delhi and a night train from Delhi to Haridwar. As the valley has a seasonal constraint you will reach Haridwar in a time when the Kawariyas
